More than a quarter of American teenagers have sent nude photos of themselves electronically, and those who engaged in 'sexting' were almost twice as likely as their peers to have had sex, researchers found. About half of almost 1, students ages 14 to 19 from seven public high schools in Texas said they had been asked to send a naked photo electronically, according to a study published Monday in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Another third reported asking someone else to send them a nude picture.

Photos have emerged that appear to show several Palestinian women and children fighting to stop an Israeli soldier from detaining a young boy. The boy, whose arm is in a sling, is seen being pinned to the ground beneath an Israeli Defence Force IDF soldier's legs while two Palestinian women and children try to rescue him. The pictures were taken during a protest against Jewish settlements in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah. The girl who appears in the images is thought to be Ahed Tamimi , daughter of Bassem and Nariman — also pictured — who are well known Palestinian activists.

A year-old Palestinian exchange student who took photos of a drunk, naked woman in her home will fly home this week with no conviction to his name. Ali escaped any conviction as his lawyer told Dunedin District Court: 'There are so many adolescents out there sending photos of their anatomy to each other; penises, you name it. Ali has already booked his flights back to Palestine from New Zealand. Majd Ali, 19, walked away from Dunedin District Court pictured free of convictions after stripping naked a young, intoxicated woman and taking a series of photographs of her. His lawyer Anne Stevens told the court that he was terrified of returning home as the Israeli embassy had shown interest in the case and he feared facing harsh ridicule upon his return. This statement proved crucial in Judge Kevin Phillips verdict, as he acknowledged the interrogation he would face in his own country would be more severe upon conviction and said it would be unnecessarily cruel to carry 'all the implications of sexual depravity' for the rest of his life. The incident occurred on November 4 last year after Ali poured the victim 'a large glass of straight vodka' at a house party and walked the victim home after she said she felt 'dizzy and very intoxicated'. As the pair sat on her couch in the early hours of the morning, Ali then asked the victim to undress before pulling her naked body on top of him, taking out his phone and taking five photographs. Ali was studying English on exchange at Dunedin's Otago Polytechnic pictured while his sister studied for her PhD when the incident happened. In the photographs put forward to the court, Ali was visible and fully clothed.
An Israeli court has extended the detention of a Palestinian teenager who was filmed slapping armed Israeli soldiers. Ahed Tamimi, 16, was arrested after footage of her kicking and hitting the soldiers outside a house in Nabi Salih, in the occupied West Bank, on December 15 went viral on Facebook. She was charged with 12 offences, including aggravated assault and throwing stones, and could now face up to 14 years in prison. How are you? Be strong. Amnesty International has now urged the Israeli government to release Ahed, arguing that her continued detention goes against the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. According to the Convention, children should only be detained or imprisoned as a last resort, and for the shortest appropriate period of time.
